Wing similarity Airbus/E-Jet

Lately I sat in an Embraer E 190 for the first time. The wing resembles very close to the one of an Airbus A320. The shape of the flaps fairings, the way the FBW controls move, the flush wing when all flaps are retracted.

Does anyone know: Is the wing design the same or is it just "reversal engineering"? As far as I know, Airbus' wing design is made by the British? BAe?
