MAP mode inop raw data 737
Guys,
for educational purpose: flying to an airfield with and ndb and vor and without one, how to do a good descend planning and bearing check, especially with flying around the airfield, from east to west to land in easterly direction? No fms, no fix page, just raw data navigation.
can you give me some hints?rarely used today i know,
Cheerio

Just as you do them in a bug-smasher - only you have a much better presentation of your data (including a very helpful track-line), so it's a no-brainer - just do like you did in your Seneca.
3 x height - 1-in-60 - closure rate - timings corrected for wind. Enjoy!

You can also calculate your TOD as a bearing/distance from a VOR - and no, you don't have to do spherical geomety, doing your euclidian geometry will suffice over such short distances. In this way, when you cross the radial - down you go.
