B777 FMC Alternate Pg Question
Hello All
How does the B777 FMC chose the 4 alternate airports on the Alternate page. I know it's by ETA but I always thought it was the closest 4 by ETA. However fiddling with it today I noticed that if I manually entered XXXX with say and ETA of 04:30, and then deleted it, the FMC then auto selected XXVV with an ETA of say 05:15. All other alternate airports were autotuning and had ETAs of 05:something. My alternate XXXX wasnt being auto tuned, even though it was closer by ETA?
Any ideas? Did I make sense!!???
