1-in-60

Hi All

A quick question in regard to the 1-in-60 rule. Was told at some stage that this could be used under IFR ie If I was off track ie under radar vectors to intercept a radial at say 60miles crossing the 180 radial wanting the 200 radial, there are 20 radials to go at 1nm each apart 20 the radial I want is 20nm away. I was told to think about this to ensure that my intercept angle was going to be sufficient to reach the aid. However if it is 20nm away that would be at a 90 degree intercept, can someone please fill in the gap between as im sure there is an extra step involved in ensuring I will be on track before the aid.

Cheers
