Strobes and Fuel bowsers

Is there any reasonable fire risk associated with taxying a light aircraft with strobes on past a bowser either when it's (a) refuelling an aircraft and (b) not refuelling?

As long as it's not in the fuelling zone, shouldn't be a problem. We are not allowed to operate them whilst refuelling.

There is an FAA airworthiness directive issued some time ago which requires owners of certain twin Cessna aircraft (those with tip fuel tanks...which oddly enough are the main tanks) to modify the strobe light installation, to prevent possible fuel vapor ignition.

The results if not done, bad....very bad (potentially).

Thanks Spanners and you other gents. Not even the mobile phone brigade actually - I operate out of a small but busy flying club where the risk of collision is quite real. Anything on the aircraft which draws attention to its' presence (ie strobes/nav lights/landing lights) seems like a good airmanship (groundmanship?). Just wanted to check before some amateur points scorer mentions it to me.
