Sig Weather Charts

Could someone please tell me what the 2 small perpendicular lines on jet streams indicate? Thanks

It's a change bar. It means that the speed of the jet has changed by 20 knots but either the changes are too close together to show both values clearly, or the software is just being lazy.

...or that the altitude of the jet has changed by 3000+.
