engine firex

Hi guys,

Just curious, what's actually the content in the engine firex bottles...I belive halon??!

Appreciate any comment...

Halon is (IIRC) a high-specific-heat gas which has caused problems with shock cooling of engine parts, and for some time more modern gases have been available to reduce the hardware damage.

Check with the techies (AMM, etc.) to find the gas used on your particular aircraft.

The agent contained into the fire extinguishers bottles is the Halon 1211
