This might seem like a stupid question but need to know for sure before i part with quite a bit of money.
I'm wanting to get a decent David Clark Headset. Given the really good interest rate between the pound and the US dollar at the moment, buying a headset online from the USA and getting it shipped to the UK works out a lot cheaper than purchasing from the UK. Are there any technical issues with doing this?

if you have money to part with, why don't you buy some quality stuff like Bose, Sennheiser, Peltor or the like (no, I'm not affiliated with neither)

If it comes USPS/Parcel Force they charge about £8 collection fee, plus VAT and duty on the cost of the purchase and postage. I think import duty is about 3-4%. Occasionally lower value packages go through without charge.
FedEx are a bit pricier on charges. I've found Bax Global very good on larger consignments.
If you shop around in the UK, then the savings are not so great.
I've found DCs to be reasonable quality and robust over the years, but I wouldn't part from my Bose now.

Happily I don't agree. I had a chance to use the new DC lightweight X11 ANR set the other day and I'd buy one for my next unit [albeit at AU$1150...ouch...but will shop around.]
I suspect they've produced it to combat the Bose opposition.

I can't comment on the current Bose model but bought the "original" BOSE ANR headset for my dad. Bose was the only US company I ever encountered that gave excellent customer service "across the pond", sending upgraded replacement parts because the original might fail under some circumstances, etc.
