Gyro question
I have a couple of questions about the gyro in a B206.
a) Do you wait to power it on (throw the switch on the overhead) until you have the engine started, or is the power consumption so low that you turn it on right away?
b) When you do power it on, and it begins spinning up, does it begin to erect itself (basically) right away, or does it do so after building up alot of RPM first.
Thanks

I have always been told that it is a good practice to leave all non-essential DC loads off until the Generator is on-line to ensure all DC power is preserved for the start.
Depending on the health of your Indicator it will take time for it to (Spool) up. You may or may not have a flag which will retract when the gyro has reached operational RPM
