Cool Pilots that use MAC

Hi,
Does anybody know of any group/blog/forum of professional pilots who has problems reading the computerized Manuals and Documents given by the company and/or authorities because they use Mac and the format of these Manuals/Docs not being compatible with Mac platforms? I would appreciate some info on this matter. Thank You,
LMS

I use a Mac. Ask your company to provide the paperwork in a .pdf format. I also have the basic Windows programme for Macs and this will allow me to open most things.
If you ask your question on the computer and internet forum I am sure you will get a lot more helpful replies.

Mac

Thank U for your reply. We do have everything on PDF. However, the other format has several advantages on a quicker and more rational consultation.

I am not sure that I follow you when you write: "If you ask your question on the computer and internet forum I am sure you will get a lot more helpful replies." Could you please specify on this? Are you referring to the Mac forums?

Also, a group of Portuguese pilots are initiating talks to try and have either Airbus or the national airliners to have all manuals and docs in a format that will enable Mac users (pilots) to use them in the same way that users of PCs do. What do you think of the idea?

Thank you,
LMS

By "computer and internet forum" I mean the computer/internet issues forum here on PPRuNe, there are loads of Mac experts there who should be able to answer your question better than I can.

What types of file formats?

The only one I can think of is _.exe files. The way to open
those is running Virtual PC (windows) emulator.

Bit of drift...

Is there anything to be gained by using a Mac rather than a PC? Is it true that Macs don't get viruses?

Macs generally don't get viruses. Mainly because they have a relatively small market share and so people don't write viruses for them.

Whether you should use a Mac or not is an entirely personal choice. If you are happy with a PC then there is no reason to change eh?
