Rest Downroute
anyone answer the following re UK FTL's:
in hotel accom downroute, check out at 1600, as due to report at say 1630 for a 1730 flight UK.
at 1605 get message aircraft delayed 4hrs, and therefore delayed report 4hrs, Try to check back into hotel but its full and have to sit in crew room at hotel.
does this effectively count as rest or having checked out of hotel does that mean you are now on duty (as i always took it if you havent got key to room, your not actually resting?)

What is UK FTL, sorry?
My company FOM:
Once reporting for duty, if the flight crew is provided 3 or more consecutive hours of rest at apprpopriate acommodation (rest time commences at time of check in and ends at check out) due to flight delay the rest period is not counted towards the flight duty period. However the previously acumulated time still counts towards total flight duty period.
apprpopriate acommodation means crew house or hotels provided by company for crew rest.
So in the case you stated we would be counting the delay into our duty times.
Hope it helps
cheers
