Sufficient fuel must be available, at all times during the flight, to allow continued flight to the nearest suitable airport, hold for 30 mins at 1500ft, then complete an approach and landing.

Loss of pressurisation or the failure of an engine must be considered.

n.b. loss of pressurisation is normally the most limiting.

Departure fuel must satisfy the above.

If the taxi, trip, alternate, reserve plus contingency fuel do not satisfy it, then mandatory fuel will be added as reqd.
