B737-800 Nosewheel vibrations

Anyone have problems with nosewheel vibrations on takeoff! Maint says they are working on it! How can nose tires get so far out of balance?

Don't think I've ever changed a set of nosewheels yet that have worn to limits. They usually get snagged long before that, for nose wheel vibration on rotation.

I have always been told it was cornering forces scrubbing the rubber at the edge of the tyres that causes the unbalance.

Amazing. When I looked after B737-200s in 1980, it was the same. 80pc of nose wheel tyres changed for vibration. The main culprit then was a balancing patch that was welded on the inside of the tyre, and came loose.

I did a research on nose wheel vibrations once (was on 757, but I guess 737-900 is not that different).
90% of vibrations comes from uneven tyre wear between the 2 wheels
9% comes from play in the torsion links (worn bushing)
1% comes from a bad shimmy damper valve in the steering metering module

Maybe a slower taxi speed, especially during 'turns', may help.Just a thought.
