A330 Overhead Annun. Lights

Hi folks!

I am trying to double check a simulation and I'm focusing on the overhead annunciator lights (the ones in the buttons).
Does anyone have a distribution list that shows which button light is connected to which bus? I guess many will be connected to the DC Battery Bus but surely not all...
In case I was unclear - I am referring to things like the OFF/FAULT indication in the Gen 1 button. The FCOM is extremely thin on this.

Thanks for any hints!

I can't seem to get a link to work, but if you go to the UK AAIB's website and look under the 'Special Bulletin' section you will find the report into a 319 G-EZAC which had a nasty elect problem and there is some discussion there about the Ess Feed P/b and its power source.

I would be willing to bet that these lights are powered by the DC ESS bus.

FCOM 1.33.50 LIGHTS Electrical Supply

Normal - ANNUN LIGHTS SUPPLY - SYS 1 = AC 1. SYS 2 = AC 2.
Emer Elec - ESS SYS = AC ESS

ANNUN LIGHTS TEST/DIM = DC2

So how can I found out what belongs to SYS 1 / SYS 2 and Emer Elec?
I would never have thought that annunciator lights would be tied to AC Busses!

33-14-00 PB 001 - ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT TEST AND DIMMING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
1.
General
Lamps supplied with 5VAC-400Hz are used for the lighting of the sun readable lights in the cockpit. The current is delivered by the 115/5VAC transformers.
Each light is divided in two sections; each one has two 5V lamps.
An annunciator light test permits illumination of all annunciators and therefore check of the operation of all lights.

System Description

Miniature lamps (115 mA, 5VAC) are used for the lighting of the annunciator lights mounted on the panels and instruments in the cockpit.
A relay (system) or internal contacts (case of ON-OFF position indication pushbutton switches) controls illumination of each annunciator light.
Four different busbars:
SYS 1 supply: 101XP,
SYS 2 supply: 202XP,
Essential supply: 901XP,
Essential supply: 401XP,
supply the annunciator lights with 5VAC-400Hz through the transformers.
In the case of emergency supply only the busbar 901XP is serviceable.
The system comprises:
A.
Four Identical Transformers
They are supplied with 115V-400Hz.
Each one is connected to a different busbar.
They supply 5VAC-400Hz for the annunciator lights installed on the overhead panel and on the instrument panel and 6.3V current (full wave rectified) to supply the AUTO LAND, MASTER WARNING and CAUTION lights and Audio Control Panels (ACP).
The secondary winding of each transformer has:
- seven 5VAC outputs mounted in parallel ; each one is protected by a delayed action quick removable fuse set at 4A,
- two 6.3V outputs protected by the same type of quick removable fuse.
The primary winding of each transformer has two inputs to get the correct dimming level (DIM position).
If the 115V supply is switched over to either input the secondary winding delivers:
- the 5VAC,
- the 3VAC for alternating voltages,
- the 6.3VAC or 4.3VAC for rectified voltages.
These four transformers are in the avionics compartment.
B.
Switch 5LP
A 3 positions switch : DIM, BRT, TEST is located on the overhead panel 215VU.
C.
Five Annunciator Light Control Units
Each unit has 3 boards and 16 relays for the annunciator light control and 3 test relays.
The location and distribution of these units are as follows:
- In the avionics compartment, left side:
3 annunciator light control units. Each unit is associated with a transformer:
Unit 1LP1 with the transformer 2LP1 (XFMR-AC BUS 1)
Unit 1LP3 with the transformer 2LP3 (XFMR STAT INV)
Unit 1LP5 with the transformer 2LP5 (XFMR-AC ESS BUS)
- In the avionics compartment, right side:
1 annunciator light control unit 1LP2 associated with the transformer 2LP2 ( XFMR-AC BUS 2)
- On the cockpit floor, forward of the center pedestal:
1 annunciator light control unit 1LP7 associated with the 3 transformers 2LP1, 2LP2 and 2LP3.
D.
Four Stage Relays
They are located in the relay boxes 751VU and 752VU. They are used for the test of the annunciator lights on the equipment (high intensity).
The busbar 206PP supplies 28VDC to the coil of these relays through the circuit breaker 30LP located on the circuit breaker panel 122VU and through the switch 5LP in the TEST position.

So if I understand it correctly, there are 4 normal power sources for the annun. lights:

AC Bus1
AC Bus2
AC Ess Bus
and the Static Inverter.

The DC2 Bus supplies power in case you perform a light test.
Am I correct so far?

Would you happen to know what annunciator light is associated with which bus?

You say you're trying to check a simulation. If you're talking about a proper Level-D type device then the information you're after should be in the data package supplied with the sim, the sim techs should be able to dig out wiring diagrams or schematics for the appropriate MSN upon which the data package was based.

Hi,

no its not a level D sim, its a small "amateur" sim. Amteur in this context means that its not commercial - it doesn't mean that the simulation is cutting corners.
