Flight Planning Volume Vs Weight.
Why is it that light aircraft fuel consumption is expressed as Lt/Hr ( Volume) where as jet aircraft burn is expressed as Kg/Hr ( Weight )?

All engines, whether they be piston, turbine, or jet are dependant upon fuel mass, not volume. It would be desirable that all fuel measurement be in units of mass, but...
Jet aircraft fuel Quantity Indication (FQI) is compensated for temperature. There's no reason why a light aircraft could not be the same, but the cost and added complexity would probably prevent it.
