Calculation of (n) loadfactor?

Calculation of (n) loadfactor?

Does anyone know how to calculate the load factor when knowing only the airspeed and the radius of a turn?

For example
V = 200 kt
R = 2000 m

And how do you calculate the load factor from the angle of bank?

Anyone?

Being : R= Radius, G= Gravity force, V= Speed, a= Bank Angle,n= Load Factor.



1:R=V*V/(G*Tan(a))
2:n=1/cos(a)

from 1 we find that:
R/(V*V)=1/Tan(a)

Tan(a)=V*V/R

a=Tan -1 (V*V/R)
thus

n= 1/(cos(Tan-1 (V*V/R)))

ps: Watch out ! use the correct units of measure.

Sorry i forgot the "G" so
a=Tan-1 (V*V/(R*G))
thus
n=1/(Cos(Tan-1 ((V*V/(R*G)))

'g' from AoB is much easier.

since the vertical component must equal the weight, and AoB is also the angle to the vertical at which the Lift acts;

L cos AoB = W.

load factor by definition is L/W, so rearranging gives
L/W = 1/cos AoB

n = 1/cos AoB

Thatīs right but he didnīt had the AOB, only the turn radius was given.
