MD11 restrictions
Was wondering if anybody has any specifics for the MD-11F aircraft with
regards to t/o restrictions at altitude, SLC specifically, with more than
1" of snow forcast or on the ground. Have been told that the aircraft
can not operate without severe weight restrictions and in fact have diverted
from SLC because of these conditions. Can anybody clarify the restrictions in regards to these specific criteria? Seems they have to get a special dispensation from the FAA to operate.

I believe that you will find a reference in FAA AC91-6B, that states that you shouldn’t operate aircraft with 1 inch or more due to the possibility of impingement damage.....
Not MD11 specific, it applies to all aircraft.
