Red face Squawk 1000 on Ground

I've heard we are supposed to Squawk 1000 and leave the transponder on Auto (as opposed to selecting STBY) when parked at the gate in LHR. I have looked for this in the online UK AIP and have been unable to find it. So far our company is not doing this. Can anyone give me a reference where this can be found, either online or otherwise?

1000 is selected to avoid the possibility of a transponder being switched on inadvertently and displaying a squawk code in use by another flight.

The above reference for LHR transponder settings can be found at:
UK AIP LONDON HEATHROW (27 Oct 05) AD 2-EGLL-1-11
It's available at this address:

http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/p...es/302LL01.PDF

Access to this website is free - you will need password access, which I recall was simple to fix.

Present company sets 0000, previous company was 2000. Now 1000. 2000 is code for crossing FIR boundry without clearence I believe. Not sure about 1000 or 0000.
