Airbus Flight Control Laws:

1. Pull back - it might go up.

2. Push forward - it might go down.

3. It all depends on the speed!

Cheers

Flying the Airbus in direct law is like flying a Bell 47 Helicopter-unstable and skittish as a long-tail cat in a room full of rocking chairs. If you don't believe me go ahead and turn off both FAC's and give it a try! The airframe design has no inherent stability without computer assistance.

Despite all the wonderful protections that the bus has, it is possible to overcome them all if a suicidal pilot wished to. Just push the stick forward and hold it at full fwd and see what happens - in the sim of course!

In DCT LAW it flies just like any other aircraft - it just feels a bit odd because you're doing it with a side stick rather than a tractor steering wheel.

SIDSTAR

YES. Just turn off a couple of things and push (or pull) till you drop!
