Thumbs up Does your company have a minimum braking action?

Hi All

I was wondering if any of you out there operate under company OPS guidelines to a minimum braking action or friction value?

I know the measurement of such a value has lots of caveats.

If you are willing to respond to this can you quote that value and the aircraft you fly. The airline is optional.

How many of you are left to make a crew or commanders discretion call?

thanks for the feedback.

No, this was left to the Captain’s judgement, but as many incidents/accidents have shown it is a quality that deserves prior thought and thus a good SOP/Rule.

See the advice in Managing Threats and Errors during Approach and Landing – slide 26 gives the terminology and values.

The second part of the presentation (including speaker’s notes) covers the risks of not having a predetermined value, too lower value, or mis assessing the value.
