A few questions...

Hi there,

I'm studying for ATPL theory and came across Vs1g and just want to know how it's defined.

Also can someone get me a VFR chart over the London Area? Do airline pilots(IFR) actually think about things when they leave a control zone for the Terminal Area? and what the service is?

In Flight Planning, we are shown a lot of fuel calculation charts, are these used in real world ops? We are calculating of data from a Boeing 737-400.

Thank you,

Martin

1) http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/VS1G

2) Sorry, No/No/ and not sure what you are asking!

3) No - computerised flight plans do it all.

Vs1g the speed [perhaps in a particular config.] where a 1 'g' stall will occur I think ???

someone will supply the correct response eventually

I don't think these performance issues are 'strained upon' in real life operations, perhaps by a rare few

Keep an eye on the VSI, and don't let the airplane go down-hill; D.P.D

When flying in the IFR system it is a seamless flow from one piece of airspace to the other thanks to ATC, fuel calculations are all calculated on our flight plans but it's our responsibility to do a gross error check to keep the computer honest, so if the flight plan says Flight Time 0+57, on the A320 I expect to see a Fuel Burn of 2679 thereabouts (47 KGS x 57 min). Fuel burn with gear down is in my memory but all other figures must be looked up in the FCOM.
