Night Rating
I cannot find the answer to this on the CAA website:
In the days of non-type specific instrument ratings, I believe that the night rating in one's licence was automatically renewed with the instrument rating renewal and had the same validity. Now that we have type-specific instrument ratings, do we get a general night rating renewal or a type specific one? Am I licensed to fly a small private plane at night, as well as my B777? What will I have to do to keep my night rating once I retire from commercial flying?
I do not appear to have a night rating page in my licence any more. Is there one in your commercial licence, or did I lose mine?

If you hold an instrument rating then you;
a) Do not have to hold a night rating or qualification; and
b) Do not have to meet the 1 take-off and landing at night in the previous 90 days before carrying passengers restriction.
The CPL includes night flying privileges.

Your ATPL lets you fly the aircraft or classes you are current on at night. If your instrument rating is current for that type or class then you would not have to be recent on that type or class. ie in old money you wouln't have to do the 5 full stop landings in the previous 13 months.
hope it helps
schedule 8 ANO gives the exact wording.
