Why do you PPrune?
I’m curious about the reasons people read and post on PPrune. Seems like a strange question, so let me explain.
Personally, I use PPrune as a learning tool. By reading the opinions and experiences of others, I can evaluation my own opinions, and evaluate some of the decisions that I regularly make.
I post opinions for the same reason – to get feed-back on those opinions – and use that for the betterment of my own knowledge and understanding, so that future decisions will be that much better.
When I post a “Technically Natured” thread, I refer to the appropriate reference (SOP, FCOM, Etc) but, that’s what I do when I’m working so it seems appropriate.
I’m curious why others use this forum, and what motivates them to do so.

After 4 sectors, going home to my crappy flat - slam a cobra, eat a curry, I find that I have no friends.... Therefore I Pprune. 
Great tool for rumours, tech stuff and my personal favourite - Terms and Endearment. Why not try Jet blast for a laugh on a saturday night

I am in the RAF. If I feel that something I'm involved with isn't right, or is very good, I may go on here to find out what others think without rank/branch/post/location being an issue which affects people's response.
I love to read the humour; there are some wonderful threads across the site that would justify inclusion in a book.
I also use it to blow-off steam if something someone else, or another organisation has done offends me or gives me cause for concern about how those in the military are treated - I am just about able to look after myself at work, but I am always conscious about the fact that others lower down the chain may not have their views heard. Given that this forum is reported at the highest levels in the RAF, I believe it to be a legitimate way of getting the views of our people across in the absence of any sort of association/union.

For me personally, "all of the above" (except where they are mutually-exclusive, of course!).
But - at the risk of going off-thread - something that really, genuinely surprises me is how often you read a post that shows that the writer has read NONE of the preceding posts...even, in some extreme cases, the immediately preceding post that they claim to be responding to (happened to me recently - he responded as if I was anti when I was pro).
But this doesn't tend to happen on Tech Log........so perhaps this is the forum where people come to learn rather than to just be heard.

I don't know wether or not this could be the right forum for such a debate, but since the above caught my attention, I'll give it a shot:
I am currently Air Force, approaching that age when you start wondering if the lifestyle still suits you (or, more precisely, your family) and feel ready for a change. As often in life, you know what you're leaving and don't know what you might get.
I'd appreciate comments from anyone who's taken the giant leap, happy or regretful. Thanks in advance, and feel free to redirect me to the most appropriate forum/thread, if there is one already.
