hello everybody,
need help (hard data if possible) to close an argument.
Situation: 2 a/c tcas equipped (both have alt readouts). one a/c with one engine out, therefore selects TA (why).the second a/c (sel TARA) approaches the first close enough to trigger a RA.
Question:does the fact that the first a/c is on TA affect the second a/c's threshold. will the second a/c be guided by a RA at all? unable to lay my hands on any litrature to prove that the second a/c should obviously recieve RA

1) No, the triggering thresholds are not modified for a/c 2 - it treats a/c 1 as any other mode C-equipped aircraft.
2) Yes, a/c 2 will recieve an RA. Again, no difference between having an aircraft with mode C only and having an aircraft with "TA only" selected.
Hope it helps.
