Airbus Flaps

Does anyone know what sort of trailing edge flaps are on the A330 and A340. It appears to be single slotted fowler flaps. Its a current interview question. Thanks.

CV Donator, your thinking is correct. The A330/40 utilise full span single slotted Fowler-flaps.
FYI - A300/10 = double slotted flaps. A300-600 & A320 variants (except A321's) = single slotted.
Good luck with the interview.

Thankyou, whilst Im here how would you tell a 777 and an A330 apart with the autopilot on ie how does the FBW manipulate the controls differently with the automatics on.

Lots of feedback on a 777 none on the A330, except the THS on the earlier non-enhanced models.

What on earth are they interviewing for using such pointless questions??

If you are not operating those types why would you know the answer?

Interview question?? Does it matter what flaps the 330/340 have? Some questions are just utterly stupid.

Yeah sometimes the interviewer asks rather trivial questions, such as what flaps are on the airbus or boeing or whatever aircraft they feel like asking, describe the fuel or flight control system or electrical system on an aircraft that we don't fly on. So why or how would we know?! We may ask.

In reality, these questions are asked to determine our inquisitiveness, amongst other traits, which would indirectly show what our personality, character or attitude is towards certain issues. They also want to see our train or pattern of thought too.

I tend to think of trivial technical interview questions as partly technical and partly personal.
