FIR Crossing

I don't have any experience with FIR's and couldn't find anything on this subject. Anyway, what is the txponder code when crossing an FIR if you haven't been assigned one?

If you are entering an FIR without an assigned code then set 2000.

In the UK the 'conspicuity' code is 7000 (with C if fitted)

Different contries require different default squawks. 2000 and 7000 are the most common. Check the ATC section of the Jepp manual, or the first tab of the enroute chart.
