BAC1-11 Simulator Cranebank

Just to complete BA's recent spate of poor behaviour with regard to seasoned a/c they are now about to rip out the BAC1-11 simulator at CBK. The last regular users, the Oman Air Force, have not been forthcoming with any usage during the last couple of years.

I hope they have offered it to someone who'll give it a good home.

From this summer BA will be using a B747-400 fixed base sim. This has no motion or visual system and EFIS displays will be switched to NAV so no map display.

I will miss the 1-11. I had both BACX and BA sim checks in it. My father had his sim check in it, and MY GRANDFATHER did his in it as well!!!!

I don't understand HZ123's problem here.

If there is no demand for the 111 sim and it costs BA to maintain it why shouldn't they get rid off it. There is still a 111 sim at Bournemouth.

Oh no! When I wanted to use it, it was so new that I had to do my training in the real airplane.
