Two stage fuel

Hello,

Let's say you fly from A to B and back to A. In B no fuel is available, and therefore you have to carry enough fuel to make it a two stage. Assuming payload is not a factor, how does your company requires the calculations to be made ?

Thanks

Pretty simple - the minimum you need to have is tha min reqired fuel from B to A, plus trip and taxi fuel from A to B

It depends under which jurisdiction you are operating. We operate under JAR-OPS and must therefore meet JAR-OPS minimum fuel requirements. (Do a search in Google for Jar Ops and you will find the fuel requirements in there). It is a little more complicated than Stuck-in-an-ATR mentions as many variables come into it like alternates, contingency requirements, isolated airfield operations (potentially), etc etc. BUT, in principle you just need as he says, but remember the extra burn to carry the fuel from A-B and also, do you just want the minimum fuel to get back to A from B or do you want some extra for weather, time of day, possibly lower cruise level, CB avoidance en-route, early descent clearances etc etc etc. Another thing to remember is that you will burn fuel using your APU on the turnaround, so you need to account for that and what about the taxi-out from B? Is it busy? Will you need more fuel to account for extended taxi or delays at the hold with the engines running? Get the idea?
