757/767 with CWS (Control wheel steering)

Anyone out there fly with an aircraft so equipped?

Curious as our aircraft were factory delivered with the buttons replaced by small metal plates.

Like to know the pros/ cons of this option and if installed how popular it is and if, indeed pilots use it.

My current airline had it on our early 767-200 series and also another operater I flew for had it on 737 aircraft, however I never saw the need to use it and have hardly seen anyone use it either.
Perhaps the lack of use is why it is not fitted much anymore.

The only time we would use CWS is in severe turbulence. It stops the AP chasing speeds or altitudes.
