Purchase price v operating cost

Folks,

Now that Boeing have won the Qantas order, it got me wondering...

If you believe the rumours, it seems that Airbus tend to sell their aircraft for less than Boeing, but Boeing (with the 777 and 787) have lower operating costs.

Can anybody give me a feel for how purchase price and operating costs compare over say a 20 year lifetime? What proportion of the total ownership cost is the purchase price, and what proportion is the operating costs.

I really have no idea how the figures stack up, and I know there will be many varying factors, but if we assume a wide-body such as A330 or 777 can anyone enlighten me as to typical ratios?
