747-8 new wing
I was reading the following rather sparse comments about the new wing changes for the 747-8. The new wingspan will be 224 ft. 9 in. instead of the 211ft. 5in. wingspan of the 744. The following information doesn't give much information, does anyone else have any more details to add about the new wing, and how much this wing will contribute to overall fuel efficiency?

There is also this image of the Freighter (not really the freighter though) that shows a much larger plug being inserted ahead of the wing than aft of the wing. Does this suggest a center of lift change perhaps?

Thanks,

The aerodynamic improvements include a new wing based on the current 747 wing, but with refined leading and trailing edges, as well as a new outboard aerodynamic shape and a new contour borrowed from the 787.
The 747-8's wing will be lengthened, thickened and twisted slightly from the 747-400's, to improve its aerodynamics.
The new derivative will have raked composite wing tips and other small aerodynamic changes to the wing to increase performance.
