737 Type training

Hi
I am due to start a boeing 737 (737-3/4/500) type rating very soon and like to ask if there is any good preparation before undertaking such a course?
How can i prepare myself for this course and is there any particularly tricky sections I could look at in advance as I believe it is a very short concentrated course
thanks...

I recommend MICK's link.

Having a through knowledge of the technical side of the aircraft will make the non-normal situations in the simulator so much less confusing to deal with.

Go through the whole CBT.(You should be able to get one via DC++ or similar). Pay extra attention to the Flight Management part. Get the PMDG 737 for the FS 2004 and familiarize..

Learn the 'rules of thumb' stuff on that site. Pitch/power values, 3x height, etc. Knowing these are vital when you get to line training.
