737NG Autopilot VNAV

Hi,

This photo is taken from one of the very latest
737NG's produced and it has a Collins autopilot.

My question is - where did the VNAV button go?

Cheers,

MM

Doesn't Southwest have the auto throttle and VNAV disabled to ensure ease of swapping of crews between the 200/300 and 700?

Dumb idea in my opinion, god invented all this good gear - to deliberately not use it is bizarre!

Yep

aren't Southwest responsible for the NG being such an out of date dog of a thing instead of a modern up to date aeroplane similar to the 777? They made Boeing leave the same overhead panel for dual type rating. It would have had EICAS and everything otherwise!!

The VNAV button is blanked off between the IAS/MACH and HEADING windows. See here for the 'complete' panel: http://www.b737.org.uk/glareshield.htm
