I use the Telex with the "after market" earplug. This is basically a plug that is created from a mould of your ear. It has a small extension on it to allow the mike boom to attach so you end up with a headset but no headband - it just sits in your ear.
Quality is good and LOUD. I have had a resistor added to mine to take the volume down a bit and now even with the volume knob right down on the radio it's loud and clear.
The ear plug takesa bit of getting used to but it does feel good to not have a "clamp" over your head!
