Gday klinger. The guts of the F/E job is that the pilots aim it and you make it go.
A very important side duty is to ensure the beers are chilled for the bus after work. Best bet is to lay the cans resting on the metal upper deck door rails but NEVER more than 20 min prior ToD or they will freeze and often burst!
It also helps if you know how to find cheap bars, too.
The only good stuff I can recommend to read, apart from "company copyright" stuff is "Handling the Big Jets" by Davies. It will give you one of the best run downs on the B747 hydraulic system available. There are heaps of "tricks of the trade" but I expect that your instructor/route trainer will fill you in there and lots of tricks are company specific.
Enjoy your time in the "Purple Empire"
