Kenya Airlines.

Why do Kenya airlines fly at FL410 in a 737-700 that run between South Africa and Kenya? - Just wondering as I normally fly n 738's and SAA go lower. I thought around about the late thirties are the typical cruising altitudes.

The aircraft will be more economical at that altitude, so if its capable of getting that high, it makes sense to climb there.

The aircraft will definately be more economical at that altitude if it's carrying lesser payload and/or fuel than you are. It's always good to hear 'the opposition' on the same route at a higher level, you've got the biggest load.
