A320 Aids

Horrible name I know, but does anyone have a list of parameter alpha codes, or some idea where to get a list?

I have seen one, and would like my own copy..... too much time in the cruise.

Cheers

Cool

Some Alpha Call Ups are exclusive for IAE-, CFM-Engines, A319, A320 or A321 and so dosnīt work on all A/Cs.
Also Software Configuration can Inhibit some call ups.

Many thanks for that.

I was hoping that GPS Time would be in there, but I don't see it.

I need to confirm, I don't have 320 schematics at home for a GPS equipped A/C, but on a GPS equipped 330 the time on the clock, and displayed by the aids parameter UTC is GPS derived time.
I expect the GPS equipped 320 to be the same.

Re the clock, my understanding is that is true only for the later model clocks.

I have now looked at the schematics for all the aircraft that I have access to. These range from a MSN in the 400s to some in the 2000s and, without exception, when fitted with GPS then the clock uses GPS system time as it's input.

Now I'm not saying that this will be the case for all 320s fitted with GPS, that's what options are for, but Airbus are less free with their options and differences than that other manufacturer.

It seems to me that it is logical to use the best time source available and if you have GPS then that's it.

I use the SC1/2/3 Alpha commands a lot in cruise; checks the 'dialed' cockpit/cabin temperature against the actual zone temperature.

Thanks for the complete list, IFP. Am I right in thinking that the LGDW (LGCIU Discrete Word2) prompt will return an answer of air/ground mode? Just that the multitude of failures that can arise with a failure of that mode in the air are so many and disconcerting that it would be nice to keep a simple resolution of that issue in the back pocket just in case... yeah, I know it would be a very busy little cockpit if it happened, just thinking out loud really, and remembering the nightmare checklist on the 777 (a few years ago, at least) if there was a confusion between the modes.

@ Sick Squid
I will try to find out more about the LGDW. But it might take some time because we normally we donīt use
the "Discrete Word" so often.
