Adiru 2 Inop

Could anyone please explain why with Adiru 2 inop a Flap 2 takeoff has to be performed?.Someone once told me it was due to no flap load relief but that doesnt make sense as selection of flap 2 to flap1 gives you 1+f anyway. Thanks in advance.

Airbus of course!

Can't immediately find the answer to the question but you won't get 1+F airborne, just 1.......so it's not quite the same thing.

It is a rather curious area of the MMEL where either IR2 or ADR2 U/S means no Config 1+F take-off.

Yep sorry, getting confused with auto retract.

Iakklat

This was covered in a recent thread but I don't know how to link to that!

Reason for no T/O in Flap 1+F with ADIRU u/s is that if there were another problem with one of the other ADIRUs on departure the flap could autoretract to flap 1. This I believe happened in the early days of the a/c.

By selecting Flap 2 we get around the problem,
