747 dumprate

hey dudes.

Im just curious about how fast u could dump 75 tonnes of fuel in a 747-400? I witnessed a diversion where the crew said they had been holding and dumped approx 75 tonnes.

So is there anyone who can enlighten me?

cheers /Duece

Depends on how many jettison pumps are in use. When all six are used with dumping from center and mains, dump rate is 2.4 tonnes/min. If dumping from wing tanks only with four pumps, dump rate is 1.6 tonnes/min. This applies to the 747/200/300 Classic.
