Just wondering if anyone has any info/links for resources (and how to's) on grid nav techniques used in say northern canada with huge compass variations?

Go to the source,
Nathaniel Bowditch, Practical Navigation (or is it Navigator?) in 2 volumes. THE reference on navigation and releated matters. I trust there is an updated edition since I used it !

Not sure yet if it answers my questions, but it sure has some other stuff to keep me amused for a while!
