Wipers on B777

What if it fails?

The B747 has CB's on the O'head but the B777 doesn't.

Any Ideas thoughts?? ( and yes before anyone comes up with - go somewhere dry!!! I've thought about it!)

I've heard of one that occured an the Co- pilot landed...but surely there is a chance that both could fail making a diversion inevitable!!?!
Cheers,
HSD

If you're in the right place, you can autoland so your only problem then will be finding a parking space. Bad enough at LHR in the dry!

When a wiper motor fails, whats to say that cycling a breaker is going to bring it back anyhow?
Wiper motors overheat, and cycling the breaker won't help it...only a cool-down will.

Speed??

Anyone know what the Max operating speed is??

(Say you wanted to test the wipers on approach and the windscreen is wet.)

Cool

Windscreens now have a special coating (hydrophobic I think) a bit like rain-x. Which means normally wipers aren't really needed in flt just for taxying.

Wipers are usually on seperate circuits. Like most duplicated a/c systems. To lose one would be unfortunate. To lose both would be just careless.

the new boeing philosophy (at least for the B777) regarding CBs are DO NOT reset in flight unless critical to flight operations...
