Boeing 737 Vmo/Mmo

Can someone tell why the Boeing 737-200 Vmo/Mmo is 350kts/.84 and the series 300 is limited to 340kts/.82?
Thanks
J. Oliver

Question

Maybe MZFM? If the -300 has a higher MZFM than the -200, then I dare say you may have your answer

Yes it's because of the engines: you know the 737 was not born with such relatively huge engines, so they had to be repositioned forward and raised partially in front of the wings; the much bigger aerodynamic shade is a disturbance for the wings at high speeds.
