Need help on qns fresh from the simulators!
Hi all, I have been lurking in the shadows lapping up all the knowledge you good people have been posting all this while. Just got out of the Fokker 50 simulator and I got a few questions to ask... they may be type specific but I'm sure you can comment on them as well.
1. In the QRH, Fokker recommends that a FLAP 25 approach (normal flap setting for landings) be flown (instead of a flapless?) when max fuel imbalance has exceeded.
- Am I right to say that in fuel imbalance emergencies, the main worry is 'running out of ailerons' to maintain aircraft controllability? And if that's the consideration, wouldn't a higher speed (in a flapless app) require less deflection of the aileron to achieve the same roll rate as compared to a Flap 25 configured aircraft?
2. Fuel being a liquid is prone to termal expansion. Is there a significant change in fuel volume between surface and TOC? Well I'm asking because my 90lb fuel collector tank has a thermal relief line!
Thanks in advance people!
