Time it first, if its longer than 15secs the only person you're speaking to is yourself and the CVR.

Just think about what you'd like to hear if you were sitting down the back. Keep weather descriptions like you'd hear them on the evening news. Speak s.l.o.w.l.y. And smile before you open your mouth, it really comes through in your voice (yes, even if the engine's are on fire!)
