Squawk 7600, continue for two minutes on the last assigned heading, comply with the last assigned altitude restrictions. Resume your flight plan and follow other r/t failure procedures laid down in UK AIP.

120.4 - where does the 2 minutes on last assigned heading coming from?

I'm not arguing about it, just want to know, as I can't recall seeing it before.

(On the other hand the old memory isn't as good as it.....forget what I was going to say now <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> )

Oh, and another thing - you say " resume flight plan". Do you mean go direct to the next point on the SID, or resume the SID track as soon as practical, or go direct to the end point of the SID, or.....?

(Edited to ask the second question)

One reference to the 2 mins comes from the airfield specific pages at the back of the COM section in the Aerad Europe supp. See the section on departures from LHR (under United Kingdom)

I would hazard a guess at the second bit, but prefer to hear 120.4's opinion {Wadda cop out!)

Tired. .Now you're asking!

It is in the UKAIP somewhere - I haven't had to look it up since Gatwick training years ago. Gatwick has a specific outbound radar function and so it is particularly pertinent to them. I 'll have a look and then get back to you if I can find it.

I would expect an aircraft to rejoin the SID at the next convenient point, without involving harsh manoeuvres. We live in a radar environment.

Looks like the UBB code has been turned off, or isn't working properly, so you'll have to cut and paste the links.
