Question Another refuelling question

We all know about checking for water in fuel. We also know that it takes AGES for water to settle in JA1. In Australia I have to walk around my 146 and do a POINTLESS fuel drain EVERY time! WHY?

It's no longer a requirement to complete a fuel drain in turbine powered aircraft in Australia as long as your co's MCM has an alternative, approved, procedure in place.

On the 146's I fly, a fuel drain is conducted prior to the first refuelling of the callendar day, and before any fuel pumps have been turned on.
