Exclamation F-50 lightning strike on approach into Dublin

While listening in on ATC last night I heard the pilot of an EI F-50, on approach into Dublin, report being struck by lightning . He reported no damage.

What type of danger lies in lightning strikes, especially in the lighter aircraft. Has lightning been the cause of any major accidents?
