I'm surprised that an RAF base has such flimsy and insecure fencing. I appreciate that they have security, but all the same......No match for the 6 blowers on the AN225!

The Libyan Govt A340 is due to leave LHR today after 12 if any snappers want a photo ?

Just had a close up and personal visit from a Spit, I think a 2 seat IX out of Biggin. Did a pass pretty much over my house I think, though I'm three miles east! Not showing up on any of the radar sites.

treadigraph 26th Jun 2021 10:59

Spitfires are being very coy today. Another one took off, no sign on radar. Miles Falcon and Dragonfly just got airborne, both easy to see visually and on the radar sites!

Is that really a Herman registered Goodyear airship I see wafting around Eastern Kent?

SimonPaddo 26th Jun 2021 11:56

Best tell the Sptfire where the Zeppelin is

Built by Zeppelin in Friedrichshafen. Probably more interesting than anything else going round and round at Brands Hatch today.

Three Pilatus U-28A with Reach callsigns near Edinburgh now. Never heard of a U-28A.

US Military designation for the PC-12.

SpringHeeledJack 27th Jun 2021 08:44

We're they on delivery or heading to dangerous lands ? Three at once seems unusual.

They are departing tomorrow apparently.

roger4 27th Jun 2021 16:28

I think they are returning to the US as part of the withdraw of forces from sandy places in the Middle East.

FR24 for at least one bird suggests more 'safari' than 'sandpit'

American reg'd Mu2 heading NW across UK, just passing Bedford.

KING6024 28th Jun 2021 13:55

Austrian C130 into Cambridge a couple of hours ago plus a HS?125 flying orbits between Sudbury and Haverhill.

That's an unusual type altogether, was it a civvy or a 'civvy' nudge nudge, wink wink ?

treadigraph 28th Jun 2021 19:33

Very unusual, but I noted a German example a couple of weeks ago - this one, N466DC, seems to have been photo'd in various European locations in the last few years. Been nice to have seen it!

I believe it was at Brands Hatch for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) races there at the weekend, in it's promotional capacity of course.

treadigraph 29th Jun 2021 13:01

Yeah, it was certainly orbiting BH on Sat afternoon after I noticed it wandering along - think it made a pass at the Headcorn bash - went home later that day, probably Sunday's forecast was a bit dire!

SpringHeeledJack 30th Jun 2021 10:20

Another interesting A342 into LHR this morning from Qatar. No idea when it's heading off again.
