Thanx for info Treadigraph. :)

Despite what many of the online trackers say, N737LE isn't managed/operated by Universal Jet Aviation but by Polaris Aviation Solutions. It is owned by Len Blavatnik's Access Industries.

Never heard of him, but he looks rather like Baldrick Tony Robinson...

A pair of Wokkers 🚁enjoying a trip round Sarf London now.

Whilst out for exercise I had the pleasure of an encounter with a Hunter from Hawker Hunter aviation, low pass and disappear back to base. XE688 which spent some of its life in South America.

Another homesick angel just overflew central Croydon outta Heathrow, 16000'; a Brussels Airlines A320 with a tight turn after take-off and not the genteel southerly route via Epsom - 10000' as they passed over Walton on Thames. Now cruising across the Channel at 23000'!

I'm just watching a British Airways City Flyer EMB-190 position between Biggin Hill and London City airport. It did a roundtrip from LCY to Antwerp, but back to Biggin this morning. Seems an unusual change, anyone know why ?

DaveReidUK 9th Mar 2021 12:54

Most of the CFE E190s are stored at Norwich, because of the lack of parking space at LCY.

FR24 seems to have got a bit confused. The aircraft that operated today's Antwerp rotation had positioned to LCY from Bournemouth (not Biggin) on Sunday, and its first appearance at Biggin was after arriving at LCY today. I have no idea what it's doing there.

SpringHeeledJack 9th Mar 2021 13:39

Perhaps it was a charter bringing merchandise synonymous with Antwerp into London and the security was better ? The flight numbers had 4 digits, so that would indicate a non-normal flight.

Aren’t CFE flying for JOTA a bit at the moment?

DaveReidUK 9th Mar 2021 15:45

Yes, since about the middle of February.

Double Hydco 9th Mar 2021 15:57

Might that be the Biggin connection then?

Nice view of Thief 41, USAF C-130J, which just steamed over on its way home to Mildenhall. Looks like it has been down to Rota and maybe beyond...

If only they all stood out that clearly - took a couple of snaps, might put one up later if they are any good...

An interesting reversal; Jota used to do quite a bit of stand-in work for BA Cityflyer with their 146/RJ.

A lovely LOUD AN-12 went W-E over London a little while ago above the miserable grey sky.

treadigraph 10th Mar 2021 08:16

Another day, another AN-12 out of Brum, Ruby Star's EW-484TI.

I used to know all the country prefixes, there are quite a few I have to look up these days... and still don't remember next time.

Hah, beaten by SHJ!

treadigraph 10th Mar 2021 14:27

Chinook ZA708 just blattered past here, 40 years old now... well, bits of it are presumably. Think I saw my first RAF Chinook around this time in 1981, Odiham wasn't very far from my school.

Double Hydco 11th Mar 2021 06:36

The Ruby Star An-12 flew across North Essex a few minutes ago towards what I’d imagine will be a fairly sporty approach into Birmingham.....

SpringHeeledJack 11th Mar 2021 07:33

If any aircraft can handle a sporty crosswind approach and landing, then it's this veritable old lady! maybe some avid youtuber will have filmed it ?

Double Hydco 11th Mar 2021 07:57

I’m not so sure. High wing, narrow body mounted gear, if it’s anything like a Belfast I’d imagine it would concentrate the mind a bit? :uhoh:

As you say, be good to see a video......

treadigraph 11th Mar 2021 08:52

I didn't hear it pass over London but heading back again, already half way across Belgium...
