Actually it was a positioning flight to Speke ;-) and then a charter for LandRover to Bratislava. I beleive that there have been and will be several such flights in the next period.

A very distinctive sound just now - popped out of the door, looked up and saw B727 G-OSRB heading east just off the coast here (N/E Norfolk). Lovely haven't seen one for years.

Interesting aircraft seen today
Two interesting over-fliers today seen from Guernsey at 1345L -C/s IRL281 and closely followed by IRL280, PC-12s from Malaga back to Ireland. Made easy to see because they were both
producing a significant vapour trail @ FL300 ! I've seen the FlyBe Q400s trail at FL250 before.....what a beautiful clear day today! |
Speaking of Ireland, I've just seen my first EJ- registered aircraft, Challenger EJ-AWES. Corporate aircraft only, sort of superior flag of convenience?
|
Had what I believed was a Merlin doing circles above our office in Cheltenham today about 300ft, not sure what he was doing unless he was helping the local plods out chasing somebody!

Yes, Ireland's belated attempt to jump onto the Manx/Guernsey bandwagon. I don't think the EJ- register has made it into double figures yet.

Dagger 77 passed over the North Essex area late this afternoon on its way from Wick to Europe. I think it was an M-28 SkyTruck of the RJAF, I guess after a transatlantic ferry?

Reportedly a C-145A Skytruck, ex USAF (6th SOS), recently sold to Estonia.

No less than three Algerian IL-76s over SE and eastern Europe just now - one seems to have done a hurried 180 over Slovenia and is heading SW again...
|
Noticed one Algerian IL-76 was in Russian airspace heading SW a couple of days ago, presumingly heading back home. Does make one wonder what is in the cargo bay?
|
COVID-19 vaccine, I presume. There's an article on the BBC website somewhere about Algeria buying it from Russia.
|
See what you mean, 7T-WIP is on her way to Moscow again...
|
We had F-GSTA Beluga in Amsterdam yesterday,a Hamburg diversion, apparently the airfield was closed due to snow,
|
I have just seen a Cargojet (Canada) B767 on the passenger terminal at Bournemouth. I wonder why it is here?
Last time I saw a Canadian long-haul aircraft at BOH was about 1970 when a Wardair B707 diverted from Gatwick. It departed to Calgary, with a tech stop at Prestwick. |
They seem to be an almost daily visitor to LHR since last March, both US and Canadian regd aircraft, so perhaps it was a divert ? Or an Mx issue ?
|
Today is one of those very rare days when I haven’t seen even ONE aircraft.

A lovely drone that could only be an Antonov went over London a little while ago. A Motor Sich airlines AN-12 heading for Birmingham. The Brummies must be fed up to the back teeth with all those Antonovs! ;-)
